Donations to Solid Ground
Naturopathic Family Medicine will be celebrating the spirit of the season this year by organizing donations for Solid Ground, a Wallingford-based organization that provides shelter, food, home care, transportation and other basic services to more than 38,000 families and individuals in need throughout King County.
Specifically, in an effort to help those who hold such a special place in our hearts, we will be collecting donations for the Food Security for Children program within Solid Ground. This program provides formula, baby food, clothing, toys, and baby care items (diapers, wipes, sippy cups, baby spoons, baby food mills, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.) for smallest members of our community. Our donations will be distributed via Family Works in Wallingford and the associated Wallingford Food Bank.
The doctors and staff of Naturopathic Family Medicine invite you, our extended family, to participate by bringing your donations to the office throughout the month of December. The Food Security for Children program is most in need of formula (Similac brand), baby food, and baby care items. However, if you find toys and clothes to be more fun at this time of year, these items will also be gratefully accepted (gently used items are welcome). Cash donations are also welcome and will be used by Solid Ground to purchase wholesale formula and baby food. If you would like to make a cash donation, then please make your check payable to "Solid Ground" and write "FSC" on the memo line to be sure that your donation is used for the Food Security for Children program.

We wish you a wonderful holiday season full of health and happiness! Thank you so much for helping us to give a little more at this special time of year.
Sincerely,
Naturopathic Family Medicine

Solid Ground is dedicated to achieving a just and caring community, free from poverty, prejudice and neglect.
Their mission...
Develop and provide creative, comprehensive and effective responses to our community's needs.
Offer quality human services in a manner that promotes dignity.
Advocate for public policies and private initiatives that give all people equal opportunities and resources.
Support the efforts of others who share our vision of community.
Their history...
Solid Ground was founded in 1974 by community leaders and concerned citizens of one of Seattle's then most economically devastated neighborhoods, Fremont. Originally called the Fremont Public Association, our services — emergency food bank, clothing bank, and employment program — reflected the desperate needs and the determined response of a mobilized and committed neighborhood.
Solid Ground today...
As the scope and severity of homelessness and poverty have increased over the years, so too has our reach to our greater community as well as our range of services. Now based in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood, our nearly 30 programs help over 38,000 households each year to overcome poverty and build better futures throughout King County and beyond.
